Custom t-shirt printing in London
Whether you need one shirt for a birthday or several thousand for a company rollout, the first question is always the same: which method gives the best result for this design at this quantity? We offer six, and we choose with you rather than pushing one. Below is how they compare, what they cost to start with, and how an order runs from artwork to delivery.
The six printing methods
- DTF (from £4 per piece): full-colour artwork, fine detail and dark garments, with no minimum. See DTF printing.
- Heat transfer (from £3): names, numbers, vinyl lettering and quick small runs. See heat transfer printing.
- Screen printing (from £3): large runs of simple designs, where cost per shirt falls fastest.
- DTG (from £5): soft, photographic prints on cotton, at a flat price regardless of colours.
- Embroidery (from £6): stitched logos for polos, caps and uniforms that are washed often.
- Sublimation (from £5): all-over colour on polyester, mainly for sports kits.
Those are starting prices for the print itself, from our pricing page. The garment, design size, number of positions and quantity all change the final figure.
Choosing a method in thirty seconds
If your design has many colours and you want a handful of pieces, pick DTF. If it is a name or number, pick heat transfer. If it is one or two flat colours and you need hundreds, screen printing is usually cheapest. If it is a logo for staff who wash their uniform daily, pick embroidery. If you want to read the full argument first, start with our guide to which t-shirt printing method is best in London.
Garments and starting prices
Starting prices per piece at low volume are £7 for round neck t-shirts, £10 for polo shirts, £12 for sports jerseys, £13 for sweatshirts and £16 for hoodies. We also print long sleeve t-shirts, tank tops and oversized t-shirts. Sizes run from youth to 5XL depending on the garment.
Preparing your artwork
We accept PNG, JPG, PDF, AI and PSD files, and high-resolution or vector artwork gives the best result. Tell us the garment, the size and where the print should go. Our guide to the best file format for t-shirt printing explains why a vector file beats a screenshot.
How an order works
- Send your design, quantity and deadline through the quote form, or visit the shop.
- We send a written, itemised quote, usually within one business day.
- You approve the quote. For larger runs, single samples can be ordered ahead of the full order.
- We print and check every piece before it ships.
- Your order is delivered across London or the UK.
Quantity discounts
Prices drop automatically as quantity rises. Estimated prices per piece are about £8 for 10 to 25 pieces, £7.20 for 26 to 50, £6.40 for 51 to 100, £5.60 for 101 to 500 and £4.80 for 500 or more. The bulk t-shirt printing page explains the ladder, and orders over 100 pieces need a 50% deposit before production starts.
Turnaround
Standard orders ship in 5 to 7 business days once artwork is approved. If your date is tight, rush options are available for an extra fee that is confirmed in your quote before work begins. For events and big batches, allow two to three weeks.
Who we print for
Our customers include businesses (corporate and workwear), schools and colleges, event organisers, sports clubs and individuals. If you are nearby, see our pages for East London and Shoreditch. Our shop is at 140 Mile End Rd, Stepney Green, London E1 4GL, open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm.
Why a local print shop helps
You can drop in, feel the garments and talk through a design, which is hard to do with an online-only printer. If you would rather stay at your desk, the whole process also works online: send the artwork, approve the quote and receive the order by delivery. Either way, you deal with the same people from first message to final inspection.
Placement and size tips
A standard chest print sits a few inches below the collar. Left-chest logos are usually small, while full-front designs fill most of the chest. Back prints sit between the shoulder blades and neck label. If you are not sure what size looks right, send the artwork with the garment type and we will mock it up before you approve anything.
