Bulk t-shirt printing in London, priced by quantity
The more shirts you print from one design, the less each one costs, because the artwork preparation is spread across the whole run. Our bulk ladder starts at 10 pieces and steps down at 26, 51, 101 and 501, so a team order, a school year group and a company-wide rollout all land on a sensible price. Below is how the ladder looks, followed by the practical details that decide whether a large order runs smoothly.
Bulk pricing ladder
| Quantity | Discount | Estimated price per piece |
|---|---|---|
| 10 to 25 pieces | None | £8.00 |
| 26 to 50 pieces | 10% off | £7.20 |
| 51 to 100 pieces | 20% off | £6.40 |
| 101 to 500 pieces | 30% off | £5.60 |
| 500+ pieces | 40% off | £4.80 |
These are estimates from our pricing page. Your final figure depends on the garment, the print method, the number of colours and the number of print positions, and it is confirmed in a written quote before you pay.
Who orders in bulk
Most of our large orders fall into a few groups: companies kitting out staff (see corporate t-shirt printing), schools and colleges ordering for year groups and leavers (school t-shirt printing), organisers of races, weddings and festivals (event t-shirt printing), and clubs ordering kit for a new season (sports jersey printing). The needs differ, but the planning is similar: a firm headcount, a deadline and artwork that is ready to print.
Choosing a method for a large run
Method matters more at volume. With screen printing, the cost rises with every extra colour, so it favours simple one- or two-colour designs in large quantities. DTF and DTG are priced flat regardless of colour count, which makes them the safer choice for detailed or multi-colour artwork. Heat transfer sits between the two for many team and workwear jobs. If you are unsure, send the artwork and quantity and we will recommend one in the quote. Our guide to which t-shirt printing method is best in London goes through the trade-offs.
Mixed sizes and colours
Sizes can be mixed freely within one design at no extra cost, and the same goes for different garment colours carrying the same print. The most reliable way to avoid wrong sizes is a short size survey among the people who will wear the shirts, completed before you place the order. Order a small buffer of spare pieces in common sizes to cover late changes.
Samples before the full run
We recommend approving one sample before production begins. It lets you check colour, placement and fit on a real garment instead of a screen, and it is far cheaper to adjust one shirt than five hundred.
Deposits, invoices and delivery
Orders over 100 pieces need a 50% deposit before production starts. We can supply formal invoices for business accounts, and delivery can be split across several addresses in the same order. Standard UK delivery is included in bulk quotes over 50 pieces.
How far ahead to order
For large runs, order at least two to three weeks before you need the shirts. That leaves room for artwork checks, a sample, any adjustments and production. If your deadline is closer than that, tell us straight away. Rush production is possible for an extra fee, agreed in the quote before work begins.
Five mistakes that slow down bulk orders
- Guessing sizes instead of asking the wearers
- Supplying a low-resolution logo that was saved from a website
- Ordering exactly the headcount, with nothing spare for late joiners
- Changing the design after the sample has been approved
- Forgetting that each extra print position, such as a back print, is quoted separately
Front, back and sleeve: planning print positions
A single front print is the cheapest way to go. Every extra position, such as a back print, a sleeve logo or a neck label design, is quoted as its own line, so it pays to decide early which ones matter. A common pattern for teams and businesses is a small logo on the left chest and a larger design on the back, which gives a clean look from the front and a strong message when people are walking away. For events, the reverse often works better. Tell us how the shirts will be seen and we will suggest where to put the print.
If you are printing stock to sell rather than to hand out, say so when you ask for a quote. Resale orders usually care more about the garment and the feel of the print, and we can talk through fabric weights and fits before you commit to a size run.
