School orders are different from most print jobs. The shirts have to survive playgrounds and pitches, the crest has to be right, the budget is usually tight, and the deadline is often a fixed day on the school calendar. We print for PE kits, house colours, sports days, school trips, leavers’ hoodies and college societies, and we plan each order around the date it has to land.

Getting the crest and colours right

Please send the official crest or logo file rather than a photo of it. A vector file (AI, EPS or PDF) prints cleanly at any size, while a screenshot from a website tends to go blurry. For house colours, we match from Pantone references so the red house is the same red on every shirt. If you do not have the colour codes, a sample of the fabric or a printed page from your brand guide helps us get close, and we show you a sample before anything is produced in bulk.

Personalised names and numbers

Individual pupil names or numbers can be added to a bulk order, which is popular for leavers’ shirts and sports teams. The cleanest way to handle it is a spreadsheet with one row per pupil: name as it should be printed, size, and the garment. Check the spelling with the pupils before it reaches us, because a corrected name after printing means a reprint.

Fabric that copes with school life

For PE and sport, a polyester or poly-cotton blend gives the best durability for active use and frequent washing. Cotton is more comfortable for casual days and leavers’ wear. For school logos that will be washed many times, embroidery tends to last longer than print, particularly on polos. We stock a full size range from infant to adult, so one order can cover a whole year group.

How a school order works

1. Contact us with the school name, the event and an estimated quantity.
2. Send the crest, colours and any names or numbers.
3. We reply with a written, itemised quote, usually within one business day.
4. You approve a sample, then we move to production.
5. The order is delivered with the school calendar in mind, avoiding holidays where we can.

Pupils or parents ordering individually

Some schools prefer that parents order and pay for their own child’s shirt. That can be arranged through a group order link so every family still gets bulk pricing. Ask us about it when you request a quote, and agree an order-by date with the school office so late orders do not hold up the rest.

Budgets and pricing

Education orders use the same quantity discounts as every other bulk order, and the price per shirt falls as the size of the order rises. Every quote is itemised, so a bursar or PTA treasurer can see what each line covers.

How long it takes

A typical school order takes one to two weeks depending on the quantity and how much personalisation is involved. Names and numbers add time, and so does a late change to the design after the sample is approved. If your date is fixed, such as sports day or a leavers’ assembly, tell us at the start and we will work back from it. Rush production is available for an extra fee that is agreed in the quote first.

Yearly reorders

We keep your school’s design on file. When next year’s intake arrives, you can repeat the order without sending the artwork again.

Sports day and house colours

House-colour shirts are one of the busiest school jobs of the year. The simplest approach is one design across four or five garment colours, one per house. That keeps the artwork the same, makes the quote easy to read and lets us print the whole order in a single run. If pupils are also being given a number or a team name, send that list at the same time as the colours, rather than as a second request, so nothing has to be reprinted.

A checklist for the school office

• Crest or logo as a vector file
• Garment type and colour for each group
• Sizes per pupil, ideally from a short form sent home
• Any names or numbers, spelled as they should appear
• The date the shirts must be in school, not the date of the event
• A named person who can approve the sample quickly
